Mr. Ahmed Hayat Lak

He is the Managing Director and CEO of Oil & Gas Development Company Limited (OGDC), Pakistan's largest oil and gas exploration and production company. Appointed in February 2023, he brings a strong track record in strategic leadership, corporate governance, and public sector management, with deep insight into the country's upstream energy landscape.

Before assuming his current role, Mr. Lak served as OGDC's Company Secretary and Head of Legal Services. He also holds leadership and board-level positions across several other key entities in Pakistan's energy and minerals sectors, including Reko Diq Mining Company Limited (RDMC) where he currently holds the portfolio of Chairman of Board of Directors, Mari Energies Limited (MEL), Mari Technologies Limited (MTL), Pakistan International Oil Limited (PIOL), and Pakistan Minerals Private Limited (PMPL), where he currently also serves as CEO.

Prior to joining OGDC, Mr. Lak served in Pakistan Oil Fields Limited (POL) as head of Corporate and Legal Services. He also worked in the National Accountability Bureau as Advisor to the Chairman and as Consultant in the office of Prosecutor General.

Production optimization, business sustainability and company's transformation into an energy company are his primary focus areas. He is currently leading the organization's shift towards sustainability, resilience, and future-ready growth in line with the global energy transition.
